The Olympics came out to be very exciting for everybody and the Chinese Government went all out to do the best job they could. As always, I listened to the music from a composer’s viewpoint. Well, of course it was very good and not so good from a musical point of view. What is the power of music?
Well, it is not 500 people hitting on the drums with a stick and making grand sounds. Although it was very impressive I kept wondering is this music or is it just to create an impression. I think it was a little of both, but to call it real music that was powerful I hardly think so because it was too much on the entertainment side of music. It is a disgrace that musicians do not have control of their own music and can make their own decisions for themselves. What is music? What can we do about it? For me, one can do nothing. One cannot change the money changers.
There was so much music during the shows, but I did not see live musicians or hear real instruments. Most of the music was created my sound cards and computers. And maintain a pop feeling though-out the performances. I was listening to a video of Maynard Ferguson today and noticed that this arrangement was more powerful than 500 drummers. Here is the URL so you too can listen to it. For rhythm, it is not many drummers that create rhythm, but one drummer can create many powerful rhythms. And this is what jazz is about is creating powerful rhythms. I did not hear any sounds from the jazz side of things. So the music from Beijing was just too commercial from many viewpoints, but was original too.
My search for real music is going very poorly. I cannot seem to find it very often.

I started a group called the Secrets to Success on Meetup.com because I thought MA has such a great training program. I could help others to succeed for Market America is really about marketing products people want. For, I lost interest in music, for I was top in my field and worked for all the top stars and music jobs in my profession, but I had no interest in the products they were selling. But after awhile I really lost interest because it wasn’t me. You see, I am a composer deep down in my heart and these values always come out in me even though at times I wish they would not. Now that I study marketing everyday from the audio, video and books from MA I now can create a new way to live and having new knowledge. Plus the greatest thing of all is that I use many of the products and my health has improved.
We must always grow and be open to the creative side of life. For our personal relationship might get destroyed, our children might go off, our marriages get destroyed and damage our lives for many years, but like my Father said, “they can take everything from you but your education.” My first wife left me with 50 dollars and no place to live. I lived in my car for two weeks. I haven’t seen my children for 25 years. I am still here. It is amazing how many women use the children to try to destroy their x-husbands. I am watching a celebrity divorce program as I write this letter. Needless to say my attitude towards Mother's is not very positive and I think the world would be a better place if we had better Mother's. My brother brought up his three boys by himself. Dr. Phil just said the courts destroy families more than they help and is a dangerous place for families to end up. They destroyed my family. He is so right. If you think this is spam please write me.
