I was listening to it today or several times in this past week for I have been arranging and composing music this last month for a couple of cds I am working on for publication here in China. I am reflecting on what is music and where should it be going?

 New York is a city divided by many cultures and not always supportive of one another is my point. He was a person of character and culture.  It is too bad that we have so few people with this level of character in our world.  He did not drink or smoke.

I wonder how many of those NY clubs are for real. I heard some good music the last time I was in Chicago, but wasted my time by first going to some "famous" ("famous" is "famous" word in China. Everything here is either "famous" or "delicious" or "beautiful" when, unfortunately

I believe if China wants to have an international city in Shenzhen this working permit for entertainers has to be less complicated.  I have been waiting or trying seven months to start work and still it is being delayed this time by the hotel.  The agent I was working through exactly lived in the States, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Today, I have listened to a Gospel Choir with very fine soloist, Wagners Ring and some vocal music from the 40s on a tune called Only a Paper Moon. Now, how can we make sense out of all of this is my question? I have been and still am studying music to see what it is made of.

This last year I have been working on performing by myself with cds I have created. So, now I am like a solo piano player who does not need any musician to perform. I can perform solo. This is really great and I am getting better at creating the kind of music I want to create rather then to have accepted others people versions of songs.

 I agree with you that labor and gain should supplement each other.  Your work takes efforts and talent, benefits the society and musicians like you with good moral character nowadays are hard to find. 

I really like what John said that my music is non-violent and peaceful. So much I hear of videos and rock music is of violence, sex, and aggressive behavior. Music is a mental force given to us for our benefit. It is up to us to decide what to do with it or how to use it.

Hello Jeff: To: Jeff asked me a question what are my plans? This is my answer!

Well, this last year just has been a learning experience dealing with government, organizations and private business. All seem to create more problems than solving problems. Shenzhen is a city that is so new they have no culture or cultural organizations with a long history or professional groups that support the arts other than the symphony and they give very few concerts.

You hit the nail on the head. It is hard to talk about music without someone getting upset about something or giving an opinion that no one cares about or is simply so far away from the original statement it has nothing to do with the original question.

I tell you at least the computer doesn't argue with me about the tempo or the chord changes.

Greg, a lot would depend on your gear. Some bass synths sound exactly like that - a synthesizer. To me, that's almost as much of a turnoff as drum programs.
