This is one topic that we never speak about or are educated in a way in the importance of health. Last Saturday, I was shopping on White Plains Rd. and I noticed many fat people. It was just awful and on TV one sees all the ads for diet, food and new products to reduce weight. What are people doing? No one is listening, seeing or taking action. Ever since I was young I always hated the limitation of food and smoke in our house because of my parents smoking. My Father died of lung cancer from the smoking and his work place. I kept telling them that it hurt me. When I was 21 I learned that the food we eat is not always the correct food or how to find what is best for one. So, for years I fought with myself and others about eating the right food and a combination of food that was proper for me. I heard so many different stories and ways of eating that it was so confusing.

My entire life I have never really spent any extra money on my personal health. In fact until I was 54 I never paid attention to my health and then one day I had a serious heart attack. (Current age is 65.) I spent a couple of weeks in the hospital and when I got out I could not walk more then a few steps at a time. Ever since that time I have been working on improving my health. We never really appreciate our health until we do not have it any more. To this day I am fighting to get the desire and drive I had when I was younger.

This concept of Market America of Wellness rather than Sickness is a concept we must learn from. In fact I never thought about wellness and what it means even though I had been exercising and trying to eat the correct food. I was into but never came across its meaning and concept. Yesterday, I walked by an Italian Restaurant and the people were eating outside and I noticed I could not eat any of the food they were serving and the South Italian Food is the finish diet in the world. So what is going on?

I believe what is going on is that people eat their traditions of food and do not think of what is healthy for them. People eat the food that their parents gave them. The fast food industry of course has taken the thinking out of eating which for me has created a non-thinking public when it comes to food.

When I was in China I noticed that the Chinese who have one of the most celebrated food cultures. They eat so much food and combinations of foods that were not good for them. I could not believe it that they were eating food that made them unhealthy even though they have such a strong tradition of food culture and natural health care products.

My point is how can we make up for all this miss use? Well, going to the doctor will not help you because all the doctor will do is prescribe medicine and not products that will improve our bodies condition.

If we do not do this we will not have a quality of life that we should have. As I walk down the street everyday I see people with so many health conditions I wonder how they can go on with their lives. I am sick and I look 20 times better than so many people. And I am not doing all I can do to help myself.
