Dear Dr. Lehman:
The Chicago Conservatory College voluntarily ceased operation on August 11, 1981, in
good standing, after having operated in the state of Illinois since 1857, Chicago
Conservatory College was recognized as a post secondary institution authorized to operate
and grant degrees in the state of Illinois. The College was also approved by the State
Board of Education as a teacher training institution meeting the requirements of the State
Teacher Certification Board.
The Chicago Conservatory College, until the time of closing, was accredited by the
National Association of Schools of Music, which is recognized by the Council on Post
secondary Accreditation(COPA), and the U. S. Office of Education, Based upon information
obtained from COPA and the National Association of Schools of Music, such accreditation is
usually considered to be comparable to regional accreditation, Since accreditation is a
voluntary process, the institution elected to seek only accreditation from the National
Association of Schools of Music.
The enclosed transcript for Greg H. Waters is a true record according to the closed
